Policies and Self Evaluation Discussed at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed their self-evaluation and the first reading of the 300 series regarding their policies at their recent meeting.The Board completed their self-evaluation and Bob Houts presented the results to them at the meeting.
It was proposed that the Board have a ?retreat? to have more time to discuss the results of the self-evaluation. The Board has decided to have a ?Board Retreat? on a Wednesday evening in March to discuss the evaluation, review goals for this year and look at goals for next year.
The retreat will give the Board more time to discuss these items than is generally afforded them at the regular monthly meeting.
The Board did the first reading of the 300 Series regarding their policies.
The Policy Committee has gone through these policies over the past two months. The committee pointed out policy 361 ? Rule 1, which is a procedure regarding the review and handling of complaints about instructional materials.
The committee felt it important that the Board know of the rules and procedures when they are confronted with complaints from community members.
The Board and District citizens now have thirty days to review the policies. At the December meeting the Board will do the second reading, which will make these District policies.
