One-Act Play and Budget Discussed at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

Thursday, November 15th, 2012 -- 8:08 AM

-The Owen-Withee School Board had a very busy, but productive evening at their Monday meeting.

A presentation was given on the One-Act Play season and what the cast and crew will be doing while at the state competition in Stevens Point this weekend.

Besides doing their play, ?September Bears,? students will see full-length plays, other school?s one-act plays and have a chance to participate in several workshops and seminars. The Board and Administration congratulates the One-Act play cast and crew on earning their trip to state and hopes they, ?Break a Leg? on Saturday.

The board Approved the Revised 12-13 District Budget. The Board unanimously approved a revised income budget to the 2012-13 school year.

When the budget was originally set at the Annual Meeting in August, the state aid and property tax levy, the main two pieces of income for the budget, were estimates.

Once the Department of Public Instruction certified the actual aid and the Department of Revenue gave the district their property valuation, they were able to generate actual numbers for their aid and tax levy.

Overall, Owen-Withee?s income dropped by about $36,300 from their original budget.
