Marshfield Man Faces Felony Charges

Friday, November 2nd, 2012 -- 10:06 AM

-A Marshfield man will face felony charges for videotaping a teenage girl changing clothes in a hotel where he worked.

Joseph Wright, age 29, has charges of capturing images of nudity and invasion of privacy, both as a repeat offender, filed against him.

According to a report, on October 7th, a 15-year-old girl was changing out of her bathing suit in a public restroom at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Marshfield.

As she was changing, she noticed a cellphone on the floor, picked it up, and noticed it was recording a video. The phone was traced back to Wright who said someone had stolen it.

A Marshfield detective reviewed the data on the phone and noticed a man resembling Wright place the phone on the floor and run from the bathroom. When confronted about the video, Wright admitted he placed it on the floor and that it was one of several instances where he attempted to capture women undressing.

If convicted, he faces seven years and nine months in prison.
