Wausau Man Pleads Not Guilty to Attempted Homicide

Monday, May 6th, 2024 -- 2:01 PM

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man accused of attempted homicide and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon has pled not guilty to the charges in Marathon County court.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Todd Tucker is said to have pointed a firearm at a woman who was trying to sell some items to another woman. Investigators say the woman had facilitated the sale through Facebook.

When she went to meet the buyer in Marathon Park she was confronted by a group of people including Tucker. She stayed in her vehicle, but members of the group began pounding on her windows and demanding her to get out.

One person allegedly told her she would “get beat.” The woman said Tucker pointed a gun at her during the confrontation. She was able to pepper spray some of the group through her car window and fled the scene.

Tucker returns to court on June 17th. He faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty on the attempted homicide charge alone.
