Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Grass Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a grass fire in a ditch Saturday morning.

According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, they received a call of a grass fire around 9:53am on Saturday morning at N2692 Opelt Avenue in the Township of Pine Valley. When they arrived, they found a small patch of ditch burning.

They extinguished the fire within 10 minutes. They had no injuries on their part. They had the ambulance service on standby, but received no mutual aid.
