Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Announces Marshfield’s Yellowstone Industrial Park Designated a Certified Site

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced that Marshfield’s Yellowstone Industrial Park has been designated a Certified Site, which identifies the more than 120 acres as shovel-ready for development, with the potential to create jobs, add to the city’s tax base, and spur further economic growth.

WEDC’s Certified Site designation means the City of Marshfield can welcome offers from local firms that want to expand as well as new companies looking to move to Marshfield.

In celebration of this announcement and the opportunity to spur development, Missy Hughes, WEDC secretary and CEO, will join city officials and the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MACCI) at a groundbreaking event at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 2611 Yellowstone Drive in Marshfield.  Additionally, city and state elected officials are invited to attend.

“The Certified Sites Program enables communities to help existing businesses grow and to attract new businesses by designating areas as shovel-ready for development,” Secretary Hughes said. “Earning the Certified Sites designation demonstrates that a community is ready to take that ‘next step’ in building an economy where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”

The site’s designation grants the City inclusion in WEDC’s Certified Sites marketing efforts, helping attract the attention of potential investors to the Yellowstone Industrial Park.

These prequalified sites are particularly attractive to businesses seeking expansion opportunities, especially to those who are looking to move quickly, typically shaving months off the development timeline and providing cost savings in the site investigation and planning process.
